Yoga is an ancient system from India. This system includes asanas (postures) that help you to become healthier, balanced and can create the opportunity to enter deep states of meditation. Many retreaters who choose the Purnam Yoga Retreat have never practiced any kind of yoga system. Our retreat is tailored to people of all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced.
Whether you are a yoga instructor of Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga or other schools of yoga, we can assure you that you have never learned the Purnam System, which combines special intensive breathing techniques with postures. By learning the Purnam System, your yoga practice will reach new heights and many more toxins will be expelled from your body. After months or years of yoga, your body becomes used to your typical postures. With Purnam System, you will be able to feel a “good soreness” again.
Everyone has a different body and their flexibility ranges. Some may be more flexible than others or stiffer…but that’s okay. We’re here to help you with you and where you are at. You’d be surprised that after a class or two you might be stretching a little further than your first class. Many times, people are unable to touch their toes before their first class. By the last class, they either touch their toes or very close. Without trying, you won’t increase your flexibility.
For the most part yes, but not for certain conditions. Yoga may help or improve certain conditions or injuries. Let us know about your physical condition or injury this way we can adjust the yoga postures and breathing combinations to help you. Before signing up, let us know exactly what condition or injury you have that way we know if it is safe for you to practice Yoga.
Part of this retreat includes 12 mantras, which helps you grow spiritually, activate your chakras, increase peace and calmness, and help reduce the negative affects of the mind.
Yes, you can have a silent retreat too. You can ask your questions by writing them on a piece of paper, or you can ask your questions in class, then return to your silence once class is over.
Yes, you can water fast during this retreat. When you register just select the fast as an add-on.
Yes, you can participate in multiple workshops during your retreat if other programs are being offered. During a 3-day stay, we do not advise more than two workshops. To learn more about adding on an another retreat, click here for more information.
Yes, you can come a few days earlier or stay a few days later before and after your program begins. This is considered a personal retreat that can be added on to your stay. Click here for more information on extending your stay.
Yes, we do offer private consultations in 30 minute and 1 hour sessions on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can request your private consultation at the time of registration or during your program. To learn more about the private consultation, click here.
Due to the nature of our programs, we prefer that your children do not come with you. We do not offer day-care or baby-sitting services. However, we encourage you to come during our Spiritual Children’s Camp. We offer this camp several times a year. Therefore, while your children are learning you can then participate in the workshops you’d like. To find out more about our spiritual kid’s camp click here for more information.
Yes, your teenager can attend this yoga retreat with you and benefit a lot. They will learn how to be healthier, release stress and tension, and the retreat will help increase their focus for education.
