Searching for the right Yoga practice

Are you searching for the proper yoga practice that has the necessary elements to help you become healthier, more balanced, and more connected with your higher self? Finding the right elements for the best yoga practice is challenging, especially now that yoga has become very commercialized lacking the spiritual teachings it once embodied.

Could this be how you feel? … Ugh!

You have not found the right yoga studio and instructor. You feel like most studios you visit are too crowded and the instructor does not have time to really evaluate your progress. You feel like many studios simply make yoga into a workout and ignore the spiritual dimension. When you attend a class it feels like everyone is competing and it feels more like acrobatics than yoga. Most yoga routines are so fast that you feel like they don’t allow you to grasp the concept of each posture, and most importantly, do not let you breath properly so that you can connect and dive deep within your true self.

Not really feeling the benefits of Yoga?

If you are looking to advance on the spiritual path, Yoga might be the answer, however without the much-needed right guidance, you will lack the real benefits that this practice can offer you. When you do not build a strong foundation in yoga you may slow down your progress as well as your understanding of how this practice can help you be more balanced, focused, happier, healthier, positive, and more spiritual.

What is Yoga?

Yoga is an ancient system from India. This system includes asanas (postures) that help you to become healthier, balanced and can create the opportunity to enter deep states of meditation. The yogic system helps you become flexible, release tension, and burn toxins so that you can experience peace, calmness, relaxation, and clarity. On the surface, yoga can be merely perceived as exercise, though the philosophy and spirituality behind yoga goes much deeper. For thousands of years, the Yoga system was taught to help purify the body and mind, so that a practitioner can burn karma and awaken their soul. This included breathing techniques, concentration, meditation, practicing nonviolence, discipline of mind and body, fasting, truthfulness and non-attachment among others.

What is the Purnam Yoga® System?

“Purnam” in Sanskrit means perfection. With a blend of intensive breathing techniques and yoga postures, Acharya Shree Yogeesh developed the Purnam System, which helps cleanse your body of toxins and negativities and immediately brings clarity, a sense of lightness, reduced tension and the ability to meditate deeply. This is a new and unique system not taught elsewhere. It includes 84 breathing combinations in total. The breathing helps to detoxify the lungs, purify the blood and pump oxygen to the nerves and brain, while the postures help to tone and cleanse the muscles. It is not taught elsewhere. The Purnam System is deeply connected to the spiritual teachings of the Yoga system of nonviolence, self-improvement, meditation, and connecting to one’s highest self (soul).

I’ve never done yoga before, is that okay?

Many retreaters who choose the Purnam Yoga Retreat have never practiced any kind of yoga system. Our retreat is tailored to people of all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced.

I’m a yoga teacher, how will it enhance my practice?

Whether you are a yoga instructor of Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga or other schools of yoga, we can assure you that you have never learned the Purnam System, which combines special intensive breathing techniques with postures. By learning the Purnam System, your yoga practice will reach new heights and many more toxins will be expelled from your body. After months or years of yoga, your body becomes used to your typical postures. With Purnam System, you will be able to feel a “good soreness” again.

I’m not flexible enough and I don’t want to hold back others.

Everyone has a different body and their flexibility ranges. Some may be more flexible than others or stiffer…but that’s okay. We’re here to help you with you and where you are at. You’d be surprised that after a class or two you might be stretching a little further than your first class. Many times, people are unable to touch their toes before their first class. By the last class, they either touch their toes or very close. Without trying, you won’t increase your flexibility.

What if I have a physical condition or injury, can I still learn?

For the most part yes, but not for certain conditions. Yoga may help or improve certain conditions or injuries. Let us know about your physical condition or injury this way we can adjust the yoga postures and breathing combinations to help you. Before signing up, let us know exactly what condition or injury you have that way we know if it is safe for you to practice Yoga.

Will I get a mantra to help me awaken and grow spiritually?

Part of this retreat includes 12 mantras, which helps you grow spiritually, activate your chakras, increase peace and calmness, and help reduce the negative affects of the mind.
