The Ashram

An ashram is a sacred space dedicated to spiritual growth, self-discipline, and non-violent living. It is a place where simplicity, selflessness, and humility are embraced, allowing individuals to cultivate inner peace and purpose. Life in the ashram revolves around disciplined practice, open-minded learning, and wholehearted service toward a greater vision. As a monastic environment, it upholds principles of purity and mindfulness—therefore, alcohol, drugs, smoking, and any form of intoxication are not permitted, and celibacy is strictly observed.

Do you offer a work-exchange program?

The Ashram Living Experience is a volunteer-based program designed to help you cultivate selflessness by contributing to a space dedicated to spiritual awakening and transformation. While the program includes select classes, accommodations, meals, and other features, it is not a work-exchange program, and a fee is required. However, we may consider waiving the fee for individuals with professional skills in construction, electrical, or plumbing, depending on our current needs.

How many hours do I need to work?

Depending on your program selection, you will be required to work 4–6 hours per day. The remaining time is yours for personal activities and spiritual practice.

Who cannot participate in the Ashram Living Experience?

The Ashram Living Experience is not suited for individuals who:

  • Seek a resort-like environment – This is a place of discipline, simplicity, and spiritual focus, not leisure or entertainment.
  • Engage in restricted habits – Meat consumption, alcohol, smoking, drugs, and sexual activity are strictly prohibited.
  • Struggle with structure and discipline – The program requires following guidelines, maintaining routines, and working harmoniously with others.
  • Are closed-minded or resistant to growth – A willingness to learn, adapt, and embrace new perspectives is essential.
  • Have untreated mental health challenges – Emotional stability is necessary to fully engage in the experience and contribute positively.
  • Lack commitment to service – Ashram living involves selfless work, dedication, and a sincere desire to help others.
